Getting started
- Install PocketSentry on your Android phone or tablet.
- Create your local PocketSentry PIN.
- Follow the guided setup and grant the permissions needed for the features you want.
- Choose a protection profile and arm the app when your phone is nearby but not always in your hand.
Core features
- Motion alerts: sounds an alarm when enough movement is detected after arming.
- Unplug alerts: can trigger the alarm if the charger is disconnected while armed.
- Charge Guard: watches for unplugging while charging, even when the main motion alarm is off.
- Evidence photos: optional photo capture during alarm events.
- Lock-screen evidence: optional evidence capture after failed PIN, pattern, or password attempts. Requires Android device admin access.
- Voice warnings: use built-in warnings or custom voice clips.
- Paranoid Mode: adds an extra disarm step for tighter security.
Testing the app
Start in a controlled place. Arm PocketSentry, wait for the arming delay to finish, then move the phone to confirm the alarm behavior. Test Charge Guard by plugging in the phone, enabling Charge Guard, then unplugging it.
Important notes
PocketSentry helps you notice suspicious activity fast, but no app can guarantee theft prevention, recovery, or personal safety.
